You can take some beautiful sunset pictures at Menemsha beach. There are some samples of our photos of the beach sunsets below.
Menemsha is a charming fishing village far away from the hustle and bustle of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. The beach faces west and northwest, making it a perfect spot for watching the sunset. It's also an active boating harbor and there are usually sailboats moored offshore, adding beauty to the pictures of sunsets.
Although this area is generally less crowded than Oak Bluffs and Edgartown, there are two key tips to keep in mind:
1) the parking is limited
2) crowds of cars DO start to arrive around late afternoon to watch the sunset
The road into Menemsha is a small, local road and it's the only way into the village. Once you arrive in the harbor and beach area, there is one small parking area, maybe 60-75 spaces. These become filled quickly after 4:00 if the forecast is for a good sunset.
