Sunset Beach Pictures
Beautiful Sunsets, Beach Scenes

These sunset beach pictures were submitted by a visitor and they are tremendous ! The second photo is one of the best beach sunset scenes I've seen taken on Martha's Vineyard. The clouds seem to be moving, the sky has a huge range of colors from red to purple and the waves are captured rolling into the beach. These pictures would make for a beautiful picture book. Picture.com is a perfect place to go to design and create your very own personalized photo book.

Sunsets at the beach are an amazing mix of reds, oranges, yellows...blues, purples and black and white. There's usually the sense of openness as well as the horizontal line where the ocean meets the sky. We hope you're a fan of sunsets at the beach and that you enjoy these photos.

There are numerous beaches on the Vineyard for viewing amazing sunsets. Menemsha is a popular spot, drawing crowds of folks settling into beach chairs with beer and wine around dinner time for the "show". We've seen the sunset at Menemsha and it's worth making the journey from the major towns of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs or Edgartown (it's about 30-45 minutes away from those popular towns). If you drive, there are limited parking spaces so try to get there before 5:00 pm...don't cruise in at 8pm thinking there will be plenty of parking.

Moshup Beach is another great spot to catch the sunset into the water. It's in Aquinnah on the westernmost part of the island and therefore has great views over the water towards the west and the setting sun. This is the part of the Vineyard that has the famous clay cliffs in beautiful shades of red, orange, yellow and brown. Folks also make small rock towers with the rounded beach stones...simple but very interesting and unique "sculptures"

South Beach is much closer to the major towns, especially Edgartown. It faces south so the sunsets do not match the sunsets at Menemsha or Moshup Beach for the western view over the water. However, the colors across the beach and waves are still beautiful.
