Here's a great salmon burger recipe. It's a bit different and uses vegetable slaw and bread crumbs mixed into the salmon patty recipe to create texture and a unique taste.
The salmon burgers will taste best when cooked on a grill and the recipe makes 6 servings.

2 lbs salmon fillet (ground)
6 onion rolls
4 large shallots (chopped)
1 cup bread crumbs
1 small cucumber
1/2 cup chopped parsley
--For the Vegetable Slaw--
2 carrots
1 red pepper
3 green onions
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon mustard
1/2 cup pine nuts
2 cloves garlic
6 cups mixed green and red cabbage
--Prepare the Vegetable Slaw--
Toss together the cabbage, onions, pepper, pine nuts and carrots. In
a separate bowl, stir the mayonnaise, mustard, garlic, suagr and vinegar.
Then combine the mayonnaise mix with the cabbage mix.
--Prepare the Salmon--
Mix the salmon, bread crumbs, cucumber, parsley and shallots. Divide
the mix into 6 equal portions and create patties.
--Grill the Patties--
Using a gas grill, arrange the 6 salmon patties on the rack. Cook over
direct heat, turning once, about 5 mins per side. When the patties are
about ready, toast the onion rolls until light brown.
