One of our favorite New England Vacation Spots is Martha's Vineyard. However, there are many great vacation spots in New England. We describe the Martha's Vineyard attractions as well as other New England attractions here.
Martha's Vineyard is a top choice for vacation for folks of all ages. It appeals to young couples looking for romance and beauty, families searching for fun at the beach, active sportsfolks thrilled by trying to reel-in bluefish, and senior folks looking for charming architecture and serenity.
The island has many diverse sections...Edgartown is a charming, former whaling town filled with sea captain homes, white picket fences and upscale shopping. Oak Bluffs has arcades, ice cream shops, tattoo shops, the famous gingerbread houses and fun family restaurants. Vineyard Haven is home to the original Black Dog Tavern and a downtown area with fun and eclectic shops. Menemsha is a fishing village that has successfully avoided tourist shops and has maintained its connection to its roots. Chappaquiddick has miles and miles of unspoiled beaches and of course the famous Kennedy bridge. Aquinnah (formerly known as Gay Head) is known for the colorful clay cliffs that sink into the water on the western edge of the island.
Of course, this quick summary just touches the surface of each town. Explore these pages to see more details and personal photos for each area:
