Of course Steven Spielberg's film was fictitious and there has not been a great white attack in Massachusetts waters since 1936.

However, in July 2008, Martha's Vineyard town officials closed beaches then reopened them after two fishermen made separate reports about seeing a 15 ft great white shark.

There were no attacks, but the sightings remind folks of the classic movie that was filmed here.

Sharky's Cantina in Martha's Vineyard has some great Jaws decor including this wall mounted shark head, a shark hung from the rafters...and...a shark with bloodied teeth (red chili peppers ! )
