The movie was filmed in the following locations on Martha's Vineyard in 1975:
- American Legion Memorial Bridge and Joseph Sylva State Beach
- Edgartown
- Menemsha
- Oak Bluffs
- Aquinnah
In July 2008, Vineyard officials closed beaches then reopened them after two fishermen made separate reports about seeing a 15 ft great white shark.
Although there were no attacks...the sightings reminded folks that Jaws was filmed here.
