Great Mexican Food on Martha's Vineyard
Voted Best of the Vineyard 2008, Sharky's Cantina is bound to be a hit with the whole family. Three words explain this colorful restaurant; Authentic-Mexican-Cuisine. A Great decor inside from the Mexican sombreros hanging on the wall to a great white (artificial)shark on the ceiling. Featuring and outdoor patio with heated lamps to indoor seating with white lights and a big bar. A laid back island casual feel is welcomed as you walk through the door.
Also voted Best Year Round Restaurant, Best Place for Cocktails, Best Family Dining and Best Lunch on the island. Sharky's is sure to be a hit with the young crowd as well as the old. The Sharkarita Margarita is a refreshing summer drink and top notch which I ordered and was great. My daughter ordered Sharky's Super Nacho's which are out of this world! You can add fish, chicken, steak, shrimp, lobster, pork or ground beef for the topping on the nachos as well as in a burrito. Yum!! One of the specials I ordered was the Mexican Paella. What a delicious combination of lobster and shrimp served on a bed of rice in an iron skillet. It melted in my mouth and wanted to order seconds. Also available are vegetarian dishes for those who want a lighter fare.
A definate stop for dinner on the island and the prices are very affordable. It does tend to get busy around dinner time but the wait is never too long. You may want to arrive a little before or after dinner to aviod the wait.
